The experience behind the advocacy
From the firehouse to the open road, my work has always been about people.
I'm an Eagle Scout, retired firefighter, EMT-B, Fire Engineer, and level 2 HVAC technician. I also spent eight years as an over-the-road truck driver. Each role has shaped how I approach safety, responsibility, and the systems we rely on.
I founded Freight Culture Standard to advocate for a safer environment for every truck driver. My focus is on impartial research into what actually matters to drivers, not simply what legislation assumes is safe.
My goal is to encourage better questions, informed conversations, and a closer look at the policies that shape life behind the wheel.
Independent research. A driver's perspective.
Meaningful safety starts by listening to the people who live it. These are the priorities behind my advocacy.

A driver's working life and a first responder's commitment to safety bring a different perspective to the same question: how do we better protect people?
Looking beyond assumptions to examine the issues drivers face in their working lives. Evidence should inform the conversation.
Questioning how legislation and regulations translate to the road, and whether they address the needs of the people doing the work.
Bringing a public safety background and firsthand driving experience to the discussion of a safer trucking environment.
Notes from the road
Short pieces written from the driver's seat. Each one ends where the conversation should begin: with your experience.
